Planet Funk

Nati nel 1999, da 25 anni i Planet Funk rappresentano una delle realtà più importanti del panorama della musica elettronica e dance internazionale, grazie alla distintiva natura di “collettivo” e ai successi ottenuti in questi anni. Il gruppo nasce dalla fusione fra la formazione dei Souled Out! (Domenico “GG” Canu e Sergio Della Monica) e i Kamasutra (Marco Baroni e Alex Neri). Il nome della band “Planet Funk” è il titolo di una vecchia canzone realizzata dallo stesso Alex Neri.

Con il loro show celebrano l’inconfondibile sound che li contraddistingue fin dall’iconico Non Zero Sumness. Nella scaletta del collettivo multiplatino accanto ai loro storici successi non mancherà il nuovo singolo “I GET A RUSH” uscito ad inizio giugno (Wisemama/The Orchard). Un brano importante, un brano che Alex Neri (Dj, tastiera, sintetizzatore, campionatore), Marco Baroni (tastiera, pianoforte, sintetizzatore, programmazione), Dan Black (voce e chitarre) Alex Uhlmann (voce e chitarra) e hanno dedicato al loro amico e compagno Domenico GG Canu prematuramente scomparso.

Founded in 1999, for 25 years Planet Funk have been one of the most important acts on the international electronic and dance music scene, thanks to their distinctive “collective” nature and the successes they’ve achieved over the years. The group was born from the fusion of Souled Out! (Domenico “GG” Canu and Sergio Della Monica) and Kamasutra (Marco Baroni and Alex Neri). The band’s name, “Planet Funk,” comes from the title of an old track by Alex Neri himself.

With their show, they celebrate the unmistakable sound that has defined them since their iconic Non Zero Sumness. In the setlist of this multi-platinum collective, alongside their classic hits, there will also be their new single “I GET A RUSH,” released in early June (Wisemama/The Orchard). It’s a significant track, dedicated by Alex Neri (DJ, keyboards, synthesizer, sampler), Marco Baroni (keyboards, piano, synthesizer, programming), Dan Black (vocals and guitars), and Alex Uhlmann (vocals and guitar) to their friend and bandmate Domenico GG Canu, who passed away prematurely.
