Luca Gelli Organ Trio

Il Luca Gelli Organ Trio nasce nel 2021 dall’incontro tra Luca Gelli (chitarra), Manrico Seghi (organo Hammond) e Giovanni Paolo “JP” Liguori (batteria). La passione per il jazz e il blues confluisce in un repertorio di standard e brani originali consolidato attraverso una continua attività live. Nel 2022 nasce il progetto basato sulla musica di Wayne Shorter. 

L’album “Shorter Notes” viene pubblicato per Dodicilune nell’ottobre del 2024. Tra le varie composizioni sono presenti classici come Speak No Evil e Yes Or No, ed anche brani solitamente meno eseguiti come House Of Jade e Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum. Gli arrangiamenti sono stati curati da Luca Gelli. Tra i vari ospiti, nell’album è presente Dario Cecchini, sassofonista che ben si è adattato a un repertorio che spazia dallo swing allo shuffle, fino a sfumature più rhythm’n’blues. Un’intesa che si rinnova sul palco con grande affiatamento.

The Luca Gelli Organ Trio was formed in 2021 from the encounter between Luca Gelli (guitar), Manrico Seghi (Hammond organ), and Giovanni Paolo “JP” Liguori (drums). Their shared passion for jazz and blues flows into a repertoire of standards and original pieces, honed through continuous live performances. In 2022, they launched a project dedicated to the music of Wayne Shorter.

The album “Shorter Notes” was released by Dodicilune in October 2024. It features well-known compositions such as Speak No Evil and Yes or No, as well as lesser-performed pieces like House of Jade and Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum. The arrangements were curated by Luca Gelli. Among the guest musicians is Dario Cecchini, a saxophonist who seamlessly adapted to a repertoire that moves from swing to shuffle, with touches of rhythm’n’blues. Their on-stage chemistry continues to shine with strong cohesion and energy.
