FRANCESCA BASSO

Francesca Basso, attrice, è la new entry del Firenze Jazz Festival come presentatrice.

Curiosa e dalle mille anime, sempre frizzanti, ha studiato recitazione teatrale e cinematografica a Torino, integrando nella sua formazione corsi di danza e canto. 

Nel 2023 si diploma alla Shakespeare School, scuola di perfezionamento teatrale diretta da Jurij Ferrini.

È protagonista nel cortometraggio “L’assenza”, di Kristian Xipolias. Per Lo Scatolino Teatro recita in “Oikia” e “Streghe della notte”. Interpreta vari monologhi del regista e autore Sandro Fracasso, portandoli in scena a Scalvaia al Teatro delle Farfalle dal 2019. Nel 2024 scrive assieme a Francesca E. Berta il suo primo spettacolo di cabaret “Would you Woody“, con cui calcano palchi indipendenti del nord e centro Italia. 

Attualmente collabora con la rassegna Fuori Campo, dove unisce recitazione e scrittura per la creazione di pillole dedicate a colonne sonore di film cult. Quando non ha in cantiere uno spettacolo, si divide tra le pietre preziose (è anche una gemmologa), la sperimentazione ai fornelli da ex cuoca, a cercare un po’ di quiete con lo yoga o a sfidare i propri limiti arrampicando in falesia. 

Con la sua prontezza di spirito, porta sul palco l’energia e la freschezza di chi non vede l’ora di mettersi in gioco.

Francesca Basso, actress, joins the Firenze Jazz Festival this year as its newest presenter.

Curious, versatile and full of energy, she trained in theatre and film acting in Turin, complementing her studies with dance and singing. In 2023, she graduated from the Shakespeare School, the advanced theatre academy directed by Jurij Ferrini.

She stars in the short film L’Assenza by Kristian Xipolias and has appeared in the stage productions Oikia and Streghe della Notte with Lo Scatolino Teatro. Since 2019, she has performed a series of monologues by writer and director Sandro Fracasso at Teatro delle Farfalle in Scalvaia. In 2024, together with Francesca E. Berta, she co-wrote her first cabaret show, Would You Woody, which has toured independent venues across Northern and Central Italy.

She currently collaborates with Fuori Campo, where she combines acting and writing to create short features exploring the stories behind iconic film soundtracks. Away from the stage, she divides her time between gemology, experimenting in the kitchen as a former chef, finding balance through yoga, and pushing her limits with rock climbing.

With her quick wit, spontaneity and infectious enthusiasm, Francesca brings fresh energy and a genuine passion for connecting with audiences to the stage of the Firenze Jazz Festival.
