Petrella & Mirra

Due musicisti, tra i più eclettici del panorama italiano, uniscono la loro creatività per un concerto unico nel suo genere: un duo atipico in un gioco di equilibri tra melodia, ritmo, armonia ed elettronica. La voglia e la curiosità di entrambi i musicisti di esplorare con leggerezza territori musicali diversi nei quali potersi soffermare e insieme riprendere un nuovo percorso da seguire lasciando che la musica possa determinare il tragitto.

Gianluca Petrella è uno dei musicisti italiani più rinomati a livello internazionale. Trombonista, compositore e produttore, ha vinto per due anni consecutivi il “Rising Stars” Critics Poll della rivista Down Beat. In oltre 20 anni di carriera ha collaborato con artisti di fama mondiale come Enrico Rava, Sun Ra Arkestra, Carla Bley, Paolo Fresu, Pat Metheny, Manu Di Bango, Matmos, DJ Ralf, Villalobos e Nicola Conte. Ha inciso per etichette come ECM, Blue Note, Schema e !K7, e ha fondato la sua label Spacebone Records nel 2009. La sua musica spazia tra jazz, elettronica e sperimentazione interdisciplinare, partecipando anche a progetti di cinema, teatro e danza. Attualmente guida i progetti Cosmic Renaissance e Trio 70’s, e collabora stabilmente con Jovanotti, Pasquale Mirra e DJ Gruff.

Pasquale Mirra è uno dei vibrafonisti più attivi e apprezzati della scena jazz italiana e internazionale. Ha studiato al Conservatorio di Salerno e Bologna, partecipando anche ai corsi di Siena Jazz. È stato premiato da Jazz It come “Miglior vibrafonista italiano” per tre anni consecutivi, e segnalato da Musica Jazz tra i migliori musicisti italiani. Ha registrato oltre 30 dischi e suonato con artisti come Fred Frith, William Parker, Rob Mazurek, Hamid Drake (con cui collabora stabilmente dal 2008), Ballaké Sissoko, Nicole Mitchell. Dal 2015 è membro della band C’mon Tigre, con cui ha suonato in tutto il mondo. Ha anche partecipato alla colonna sonora del film To Rome With Love di Woody Allen con la band Mop Mop.

Two of the most eclectic musicians on the Italian scene join forces, merging their creativity for a one-of-a-kind concert: an unconventional duo playing with the balance between melody, rhythm, harmony, and electronics. Driven by curiosity and a shared desire to explore different musical landscapes with lightness and freedom, the two musicians linger in each territory before setting off together on new sonic paths, letting the music itself guide their journey.

Gianluca Petrella is one of the most internationally renowned Italian musicians. A trombonist, composer, and producer, he won Down Beat magazine’s “Rising Stars” Critics Poll for two consecutive years. In over 20 years of career, he has collaborated with world-famous artists such as Enrico Rava, Sun Ra Arkestra, Carla Bley, Paolo Fresu, Pat Metheny, Manu Di Bango, Matmos, DJ Ralf, Villalobos, and Nicola Conte.
He has recorded for labels including ECM, Blue Note, Schema, and !K7, and in 2009 he founded his own label, Spacebone Records. His music moves seamlessly between jazz, electronics, and interdisciplinary experimentation, also contributing to cinema, theater, and dance projects. He currently leads the projects Cosmic Renaissance and Trio 70’s, and collaborates regularly with Jovanotti, Pasquale Mirra, and DJ Gruff.

Pasquale Mirra is one of the most active and acclaimed vibraphonists on the Italian and international jazz scenes. He studied at the Conservatories of Salerno and Bologna, also attending Siena Jazz workshops. He was awarded “Best Italian Vibraphonist” by Jazz It magazine for three consecutive years and was ranked among the best Italian musicians by Musica Jazz.
He has recorded over 30 albums and played with artists such as Fred Frith, William Parker, Rob Mazurek, Hamid Drake (with whom he has collaborated continuously since 2008), Ballaké Sissoko, and Nicole Mitchell. Since 2015, he has been a member of the band C’mon Tigre, touring worldwide. He also contributed to the soundtrack of Woody Allen’s film To Rome With Love with the band Mop Mop.
